May 16th 7:30 p.m. - "From Conneaut Lake to Colonel"
Col. David White, former Conneaut Lake resident, will speak about growing up at Conneaut Lake and his career in the U.S. Army where he was in charge of Fort Sill, Okla. Program is open to the public, free of charge. It is at Station Five, Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall, which is smoke-free and handicapped accessible.
Instead of our traditional 5K race, we will be holding a kayak race Aug.14. It is called the Conneaut Lake Paddle Fest.

The museum opens Saturday, May 7, for the summer and fall. Hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Our annual Conneaut Lake Cruise-in is set for July 9 at 10 a.m.at the museum. The Liberty the Second will be started at noon -- a move which is always exciting.
Cool 101 will be broadcasting live. The cruise in will be held until 3 p.m.The museum will be open early that day as well.
Hot dogs, soft drinks and baked goods will be sold.
Admission is free of charge.

We have several new exhibits and other updated for the new season.
We have expanded the Ice House display as you enter the lobby. Inside the museum is a new exhibit featuring the old Indian statue that once was at Conneaut Lake High School. In addition to the Indian, the exhibit committee has been busy construction a long house and other artifacts to show how the native Americans lived.We also have a new display featuring artifacts from the Blue Streak and an updated display featuring a mural of the Barbara J. Cindy Simonette has updated the mural with people and it looks beautiful. Also featured is a replica of a roller coaster that was used as a wedding decoration and then donated to the society.
Check out the museum with lots of history and exhibits to educate young and old alike about our heritage.

Pictures now Available
The board has voted to allow reprints of any picture in our museum. Cost is $1 for 4 by 6; $3 for 5 by 7; and $5 for 8 by 10. Stop at the museum and check out our vast array of pictures. Larger sizes may be ordered as well.
Our 2015 and 2016 calendars have 13 8 by 10 colored pictures – all suitable for framing once the month is over. They are a mixture of pictures – some old and some new.Each has scenes as well as photographs at Conneaut Lake Park and local businesses.
We also have some Wendell August ornaments inscribed with the Barbara J available.Cost is $20. These are limited editions with only about 40 left.They are available at Timberland Floral or Lakeside Beauty Shop as well.
