Next Meeting: No Meetings Until March
As we have in the past, we will not meet during December, January and February. We voted years ago not to meet in those months because of the chance of inclement weather and we didn't want to have to cancel. So enjoy your winter and we will see you in March with new programs.

"The Lake As It Was"
We now have the Bronson Luty book, "The Lake as it Was." After many requests and logistics figured out, the Luty family received the copyright to the book written by their dad and it is being reprinted. We will have it for sale by Christmas.

We are taking orders for the book now. It is an informal history and memoirs of the lake by Mr. Luty and is a very popular and easy-to-read.

Cost is $20 plus $1.20 tax. If it is to be mailed, please add $3.

If you are local, contact Jane Smith at 337-6377 and she will see that you get it without having to pay postage.

The printer has guaranteed it will be here for Christmas.

Palmiero-Toyota Program
The historical society was recipient of $750 in this year's Palmiero-Toyota Give Back Program. We were not aware we could be considered as we had won the big prize one year. However, we learned that in observance of the 10th anniversary, all former winners could also compete.

So we entered again, However, many of us had committed to vote for the French Creek Valley Railroad Historical Society so we voted for that. Those who hadn't made that commitment voted for us. We were thankful for the generosity of Palmiero-Toyota and we pleased to see the railroad society come in second and get $2,500!

We received two endowments this month -- one for the museum itself and one for Barber Cemetery from the Wilma and Lee Dennis Estate.

We had previously received one earlier this year from the estate of George Rutherford.
Both were much appreciated and will be put to good use. As you may recall, both Lee and Wilma as well as George were charter members and long time workers for the society.
It is nice to know their memories will be kept alive through the use of their donations to the society.
