Including Race and New for 2019, Dice Run

Conneaut Lake Area Historical Society is pleased to announce our 4th annual Paddlefest. It is designed to be a fun event, bringing families and the community together. Kayak enthusiasts from beginner to expert are encouraged to participate.

General Info:

Check in will begin at 7 am. Participants will pull into Fireman's Beach, North 2nd Street, and drop off their kayak. You will be directed to parking.  You will then return to check in area to receive packet of info. You can participate in one or both events.


An approximate 3-mile course will depart from Fireman's Beach, progress north along the west side of the lake, and return to Fireman's beach. Race begins at 8:30.

Dice Run:

A circular course taking off from it’s own star ng point at Fireman’s Beach.  Kayakers will paddle around Ice House Bay, stopping at each checkpoint marked with colored flags to roll dice. You can begin at any time after
check-in. Check back in to scoring table by 10:45


All participants are required to bring their own kayaks, paddles, life jackets (type 3 personal flotatation devices required to be worn during the race) and whistles. Participants must be at least 14 years old. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent. All participants will be required to sign a waiver at check in.

Family fun:

This will be an event where families & spectators are welcome to join the participants at Fireman's Beach by cheering them on, enjoying the music, food, our beautiful lake and our charming town. Barbara J will be running a special ride beginning at 8:15 AM for spectators to view the race from the lake for their usual fee of $10 (kids $5, 5 and under, free).

Other events in the area will be held for your enjoyment including Conneaut Lake Area Historical Museum tours.


Due to the logistics of the race, we strongly encourage pre-registration.

Deadline for pre-registration will be July 1, 2019. We will receive registration the day of the event as space permits.
