CONNEAUT LAKE – The second annual Conneaut Lake Horse Shoe Tournament, sponsored by The Lake House Restaurant, was a success despite the rain.

Adam Field and Doug Beck were named winners following nearly three hours of competition. Runners-up were Mike Van Tassel.

Don Taylor and Jon Logan were coordinators for the event, which was sponsored by the restaurant with proceeds benefitting the Conneaut Lake Area Historical Society.

Numerous businesses donated gifts which were given as prizes in a special raffle. Winners were: Johnny Coatoan and goose picture frame from Whistle Stop and also a denim long sleeve shirt donated by The Lake House; Richard Beres and and Cheryl Meta, ,pumpkins and mums, donated by HindmanFarm; Meta, a Go Lake paddle donated by Nancy Coleman; Gerald “Punch” Engli, a T-shirt from Walt’s Tavern and gift certificates from Hollywood Videos; Jon Logan, T-shirt from the historical society; Doug Beck and Greg Muir, silver Bullit tshirts from Fairway 12; Lou Shorts, gift certificate from The Berry Basket; Bob Woods, 12-pack of Pepsi from Bev Litwiter; Dick Mangus, a cooler bag from the Lake House; and Cheryl Meta, a Woolrich shirt. Doug Beck also was winner of a 50/50 raffle.  Rhonda Logan was in charge of scoring.

Conneaut Lake Sand and Gravel provided the sand for the pits; Sherry’s Beer Distributors, a keg of beer; and Lake House Restaurant, trophies.

The society expresses its appreciation to all those who donated items to make this event so successful.
