Courtyard Dedication Ceremony Planned
Museum Hours: |
A special dedication ceremony for the new courtyard as well as improvements to the museum and more memorial plaques is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the museum. Construction on the improvements is under way as the new stamped concrete sidewalk and the new pavement in front of the garage is complete. Work was to start last week as well on the improvements to the front of the building, including new paint. Thanks to Audie Hays, the old telephone wires, that were not functioning, have been removed to allow it to have a clear front. The big sign at the top of the museum is to be taken down and repainted. Boy Scout Richard Lucas is building the planters for the courtyard. Two benches have been purchased as memorials – one by Sandy and Dix Kerlin for her mom, Betty Ellis; and the other by Doris Egyud, in memory of her husband, Ralph D. Egyud Sr. The courtyard was designed by Jack Stover and Dave Lynch and will not only beautify the front of the building, but make it much safer. We will have special speakers and light refreshments, so please join us and tell others. Check out what has been done so far!
