Our newest fundraiser – to raise $11,000 – to paint the rest of the museum is off to a good start.

With only three weeks of fundraising and limited publicity, we have already raised $357.

The board approved the fundraiser after we looked at the building once the courtyard and painting of the front of the building was complete. Once the front was painted, the rest of the building looks pretty drab. Having just spent close to $15,000 for the courtyard, painting and roof repair, we didn’t want to deplete our treasury any further to do the rest of the building.

So, we are now in the process of raising the approximate $11,000 needed to make our next improvement.

We decided to go with the “block party” theme and we are giving the people the opportunity to “adopt a block.” In reality, it is the easiest adoption you will ever have. Just pay $2 a block and your name will be listed as a donor. It won’t be on the block itself. You won’t have to maintain it or paint it. That is what the $11,000 will do!

We hope to find enthusiastic support for this type of fundraiser. It not only will give everyone an opportunity to share in the project, but is tax deductible.

You can adopt one block or 1,000 blocks.

Our goal is to raise the money by next spring and with your help and those of others, we think we can do that.
