"The Boats of Conneaut Lake"
Presented by Erik, Bob and Frank Miklos
The Conneaut Lake Life for the Miklos brothers focused on knowing all of the wooden boats (and their building techniques) on the lake. They are still at it!
Our monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Sportsman's Club in Conneaut Lake. It is open to public free of charge. Hall is handicapped accessible and smoke free. Refreshments will follow the program.
New Museum Hours
The Conneaut Lake Area Historical Society Museum will have new hours on Saturdays for the next two months (May and June).
The board voted to haves a trial run to see if we get more visitors to the museum if we change the hours.
New hours for Saturday will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday hours will remain the same, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
After two months, we anticipate reviewing the hours to determine whether to keep the new hours or revert back to the 2 to 5 p.m. hours.
Annual Meeting Held
Our annual meeting was held in April and the current officers were re-elected: Chuck Groger, president; Bernie Hanmore, vice president; Pat Hindle, secretary; and Jane Smith, treasurer. Elected to the board for another three year term were; Bob Disko, Greg Hindle and Dale Pysher. Cris Myers was elected to succeed Dave Mihalyi, who chose not to seek another term.
We thank Dave for his years of service on the board and appreciate that he is still going to stay involved.
Welcome to our new Website. We hope you enjoy the new features and become a little more acquainted with all our historical society has to offer. Check out each page for information and pictures.
We welcome new members. If you want to join click on membership button and it will give you details!
We hope you will join us and spread the word to your friends.
Pennsylvania Network Cable News
The Pennsylvania Cable Network, which broadcasts across the state, was in town the end of April and taped a tour of the museum. It will be broadcast at the end of August -- at a date and time to be announced.
Chuck Groger and Jane Smith presented information about various exhibits as the cameramen focused on various displays.
It was an honor to be chosen for the special show and we hope everyone will tune in and spread the word.

We have two new t-shirts available.

The second has the same message, except it is written in the left corner of the shirt. This is designed for those who prefer the more conservative look.
Both sell for only $10.
We also have a new tank top, which is inscribed with Conneaut Lake, PA., across the front. These also are available in all sizes and colors.
Cost is $15.
Our historical society will once again participate in Crawford Heritage Community Foundation's "Crawford Cares" program.
It will be held Aug. 30 and 31.
The foundation will take donations designated for the society and will match the donations according to a predetermined formula.
All one has to do is call and give a credit card number or mail or take a check made out to the foundation and noted for the historical society during the hours of the two-day event.
Last year, we raised a little more than $3,500 and we hope raise more this year.
With the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to cancel our cuisine last year and this year, so that money actually replaced what we lost by not having the cuisine, whcih has always had a $3,000 profit.
We are grateful to the foundation for sponsoring this event and encourage people to give -- no matter what the amount.
Funds are used toward completing our mission of preserving our history.
Watch for more information in coming months!
