November 16th, 2026
To Be Announced

We’re still finalizing the program for our November meeting, but we’re working to make it one you won’t want to miss.

About Us.jpg

Give Back

November is the month for the annual Palmiero-Toyota Give Back Program.

We are one of many non-profits registered and it is very simple.

It costs no money; just a few minutes of your time each day.

Here's how it works:

Starting Nov. 1, you go to the Palmiero-Toyota business on Conneaut Lake Road (across from Wal-Mart).

In the area closest to Conneaut Lake, there are many boxes with names on them.

You go into the area, take a ticket from the ticket dispenser and drop  it to the box marked Conneaut Lake Area Historical Society.

Then you can leave.

You do that every day, Monday through Saturday (except Thanksgiving). You can vote once a day.

There is no fee, no sales pitch, just a way to vote to help us raise money.

The project goes through the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The group with the most number of votes wins $5,000.

Others receive lower amounts -- based on the number of votes.

The more votes we get, the more money we get.

Please help us earn some money and support this wonderful project of Palmiero-Toyota.

Also, please tell your friends and family. It is open to anybody, including children!

Remember, One vote every day for every person willing to take a few minutes!

Thanks in advance!

Crawford Gives

Last week we received our check from Crawford Gives.

We received a check for $14,202.05.

We appreciate every donation and the matching funds of more than $362 from the sponsors.

We will use a portion for the military banners and updating technology.

The remainder will go into our general operating fund.

THANK YOU to our 46 donors!

Christmas is Coming

Don't forget our annual Small Business Saturday Sale.

It is the Saturday after Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We have new items -- the pony track ornament and engraved tumblers.

We also have all types of clothing, books and special items.

If we don't have the size and/or color, we can order it.

However, we need ALL Christmas orders by Nov. 30!

We have items from $1 to $400 -- and every price in between.

We have gifts for both children and adults.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Please bring a tureen too share.

Exhibits

The exhibit committee has made a few changes in the displays this year.

The military display has been changed to add a sculpture, "The Perpetual Soldier,"which is absolutely beautiful.

It was sculpted by Donald Valentine Jr. and is a life-size statue of a soldier in khaki uniform.

The exhibit area was expanded as we moved the clothing rack to make more room.

Pictures of the Century Buildings honored lat year are displayed so everyone can see what they look like -- and consider nominating other 100-year (or older) buildings for consideration in 2025.

Did you know a man who used to live in Conneaut Lake was a National Rifle Shooting Champion in the early 1900s?

Some of the loving cups by J. P. Ittel are displayed along with other memorabilia showcasing his accomplishments.

Mr. Ittel also made a model of a famous church in Normandy where paratroopers landed on D-Day.It also has been donated to use and isdislayed near the church section -- reminding us how important churches area.

Please take a few minutes to stop by the museum and see all the exhibits.

And, check out the new cubby holes which has all our clothing arranged neatly for easy shopping.

Crawford Gives is Coming

The annual Crawford Gives program of the Crawford County Heritage Community Foundation is set for August 12 through Aug. 15.

The program is simple.  People may send donations designated for the historical society o the Foundation on those days via check or call with credit card or go to office with cash.

Once the program is over, the foundation tabulates all the donations and then adds a percentage to the total (based on funds donated for this program by sponsors) and then sends us a check for the new total. It usually is about 3 percent and we get it within a few months.

It is an easy way for the society to raise funds and all donations are tax deductible

Please mark your calendars and consider making a one-time donation.

Thank you in advance,
